Eamon Thomas Bushman arrived on October 25th, 2011 at 8:29pm after 36 hours of labor. Whomever said your second will be easier than your first did not know the way of stubborn little boys. He was 8lbs 13oz, 21 1/4 inches long, and perfect. He was three weeks old yesterday and has his little baby bottom perched on the computer as I type. Life has settled in a little. I have done most of the things on my to do list last time. When he was 4 days old we went to a pumpkin carving contest, At 5 days old he was attending his first outdoor Beatles concert, and at 6 days old a trip to the pumpkin patch. This was followed by the inevitable middle of the night Dr's appointment and ER visit on day 7 for the pus pouring out of his right eye. A pretty interesting first week of life I would say....but you have to keep up if you are going to be a part of this family.
Big sister Gemma has taken to her little brother with an intense love I can barely fathom sometimes. I keep waiting for the other "shoe" to drop, but I'm not sure it will. She cuddles him, talks to him, holds him, and protects him like he has always been one of us. I am so proud of what an amazing little person she is.
I have several leads on the job front which is good, since I just remembered how expensive children are! I actually go back to work part time tomorrow and I'm a little nervous. We haven't tried a bottle yet and he seems so small for me to be away, but that is life. I love my children, but I love my job too. I'm pretty sure I am better at my job than being a mother to two children full time. I give full credit to all those stay at home parents, I really do not know how you do it everyday. Blood, guts, illness, life, death, is much easier than being a stay at home parent full time.
I have begun to ramble, and I don't think I have a single punctuation mark in the right place. The baby wants to feed again, and I am frankly exhausted from the day. I hope you will forgive my horrible grammar and punctuation this once. I will be blogging again soon, with the many tales of everyday life. Lets face it Hollywood may be glitzy but real life is as interesting as it gets!
